Data Quality Associate, Team Lead – Singapore

We are looking for a Data Quality Associate, Team Lead to join our Singapore office, providing data management support and participate in product development and process improvement functions. The incumbent will gain a solid understanding of alternative investments and act as subject matter expert on the company’s data products and services. This position is required to liaise with various stakeholders of different levels and is expected to possess strong communications and relationship management skills. This person must be meticulous enough to focus on the tasks at hand while having the eye to see things in the wider context. Able to commence work immediately.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Quality Management (60%)

  • Manage a team of data quality associates to process fund data using established standard operating procedures
  • Manage existing KPIs and develop new metrics for monitoring team efficiency
  • Acquire new fund data by liaising actively with hedge fund professionals globally.
  • Regular intensive online research on fund information using public sources like news articles, annual reports, financial statements, investor newsletters, public filings, etc.
  • Summarize and account for timeliness and quantity of data collected to senior management.
  • Investigate and resolve data discrepancies to minimize errors and improve quality of information
  • Keep abreast of regulatory developments in alternative funds management industry.
  • Be a champion of good data sourcing methods, quality and maintenance of the entire database.

Product Development & Work Flow Automation (40%)

  • Develop and implement solutions to enhance features and functions of database platform
  • Work on automation projects to enhance accuracy and timeliness of data collection
  • Automate training portal for fund management procedures
  • Participate in product strategy discussions with various departments.
  • Introduce new offerings with the view to complement and enhance existing products.

Job Requirements:

  • Diploma/Degree in Business or Accounting, with major in finance preferred (fresh graduates will be considered).
  • Professionals with at least 2 years of experiences in fund accounting or data management roles would be advantageous.
  • Able to coordinate and complete projects within tight deadlines.
  • Must be target-oriented as there is monthly criteria to be met.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing as a strong team player.
  • Possess strong interest in working with financial data and databases.
  • May be required to travel occasionally.

Qualifications and skills:

  • High proficiency in Excel is required.
  • Proficiency in SQL/Python would be desirable

Work Schedule:

  • Mostly 9am to 6:15pm with flexibility to work mid-shift occasionally to communicate with European and US clients.
