The benchmark Eurekahedge Hedge Fund Index was down 1.20%1 in January, while the MSCI World Index2 lost 5.71% over the month. Total assets under management decreased by US$5.42 billion during the month as the sector witnessed performance-based declines of US$1.40 billion while registering net asset outflows of US$4.02 billion. The total size of the industry now stands at US$2.24 trillion.
